Description
This Sweetgreen Spicy Broccoli is an easy copycat recipe for one of Sweetgreen’s tastiest salad ingredients. Topped with umami seasoning and roasted for a crispy and healthy salad add-in.
Ingredients
Scale
- Umami Seasoning:
- 4 tsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
- Sweetgreen Spicy Broccoli:
- 1 to 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 to 2 tsp of umami seasoning
- 1 broccoli head, washed and cut into florets
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or lightly grease it with olive oil.
- Make the umami seasoning. In a small bowl, mix the nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt and chili flakes together until well combined.
- Prepare the broccoli. Drizzle the olive oil over the broccoli florets, followed by the umami seasoning. Use your hands to spread the olive oil and seasoning evenly over the broccoli florets.
- Roast the broccoli. Layer the broccoli florets evenly on the baking sheet, making sure they don’t overlap. Bake for 13 to 17 minutes until they are crispy and slightly browned. Optionally, flip them halfway through baking.
Notes
- Storing Umami Seasoning: This recipe will make extra umami seasoning. Store the seasoning in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 to 4 months.
