Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 inch chunks
Instructions
- Prepare the oven. Preheat the oven to 425F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or lightly coat it with oil.
- Mix the umami seasoning. Mix the salt, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder and nutritional yeast together in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Make the sweet potatoes. Drizzle the olive oil over the sweet potato chunks. Sprinkle a generous pinch of the umami seasoning over the potatoes (do not use all the seasoning, there will be extra). Use your hands to massage the sweet potatoes to evenly coat them with the olive oil and umami seasoning.
- Bake the sweet potatoes. Line the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet in one layer. Bake the potatoes for 25 to 30 minutes until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
Notes
- Extra seasoning: This recipe makes extra umami seasoning. Use your judgement for how much seasoning to add to your potatoes, depending on how strongly you want them flavored. Store extra seasoning in an airtight container at room temperature.
