Description

This Sweetgreen Wild Rice recipe is the best way to make wild rice if you are making any Sweetgreen copycat salads at home. It also makes a delicious side dish all on its own!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the wild rice under cold water for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the wild rice, chicken broth and salt to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pot and reduce the temperature to low to maintain a gentle simmer. Cook the rice for about 30 to 45 minutes. Once the rice grains begin to split open, the rice is done cooking.
  3. Remove the rice from the stovetop and drain any excess liquid. Let the rice cool for a few minutes, then use a fork to fluff up the grains before serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Let wild rice cool to room temperature. Then, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Sweetgreen Salad Recipes: Use this wild rice in Sweetgreen copycat recipes, such as their Harvest Bowl, their Garlic Steak Bowl, their Crispy Rice Bowl or their Shroomami Bowl.
