Description
These easy Garlic Breadcrumbs are a delicious, crunchy salad topping recipe. They are quick to make and can be added into almost any type of salad.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices of day old bread
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Cut the slices of bread into 1 inch pieces and place them in a food processor. Pulse a few times until the bread has broken down into large crumbs.
- Transfer the crumbs to a small bowl. Drizzle the olive oil and garlic powder over the crumbs and toss to coat them evenly.
- Spread the bread crumbs evenly across a baking sheet. Bake on the top shelf for 5 to 10 minutes until they are golden brown.
Notes
- Storage: Store breadcrumbs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 to 2 months.
- Add breadcrumbs right before serving. If you are meal prepping salad recipes, use these salad tupperware containers to keep your ingredients separate and fresh. Avoid mixing in bread crumbs into your salad until you are ready to eat it, otherwise they will get soggy.
- Sweetgreen recently replaced their za’atar breadcrumbs with these garlic breadcrumbs. However, you can use either one in any Sweetgreen recipes that call for bread crumbs including in their Steak Honey Crunch Salad, Chicken Pesto Parm Salad or their Hummus Crunch Salad.
